He murdered Cloud's mother and Aerith herself but people really don't have a problem with SephCloud and AeriSeph. Why not this?
Seph also tried to kill Tifa for the fuck of it multiple times. plus she was incredibly heartbroken at her dead parents and swore violent revenge.
I'm not knocking artistic asthetic (visual it's artistic), but when it comes to this couple and how he abuses her I have one opinion:

also Aerith can come back to life, bend the rules of destruction, and even drag people out of death. killing her doesn't count nearly as much technically.

Still doesn't change the fact that Sephiroth really tried to kill everyone and simply applying such standards to one pairing is hypocritical, lol.

That is correct.
That is true. Canon fact actually. However, this group isn't a pairing bases only. It's a fan group for both characters. Shipped together, with others, or fan art of them as enemies, all is welcomed. All but the hate for either character.
